Head Start & Great Start Readiness Program

Head Start (federally funded) and GSRP (state-funded) are programs that provide high quality, free preschool education for children in families that meet state or federal guidelines for income and/or risk factors.

Residents of Wexford & Missaukee Counties
Northwest Michigan Community Action Agency (NMCAA) coordinates preschool enrollment for Wexford & Missaukee County Head Start and GSRP programs. Residents of the following school districts should call 1.800.443.2297 for more information:

Residents of Osceola County
Northeast Michigan Community Service Agency (NEMCSA) coordinates preschool enrollment for Osceola County Head Start and GSRP programs. Residents of these school districts should call their respective phone numbers for more information:
